Freight in Western Australia does not behave like freight on the eastern seaboard. A delivery to Kalgoorlie is a day's driving. A delivery to Port Hedland crosses country where a missed fuel stop or an unplanned fatigue break rearranges the whole schedule. Quoting that work as though it were a metro run is how carriers end up late and customers end up surprised.
JS Highway Transport plans in the other direction. We look at the corridor, the equipment the load actually needs, the permit conditions if it runs oversize, and the driver hours the trip consumes — then we quote a window we are willing to be held to.
The company operates from Perth's south-eastern industrial corridor, which puts our yard close to Roe and Tonkin highways and the run-up to both the Great Eastern and Albany highways. Metro collections and a regional departure can sit in the same day without a cross-town detour.

We quote the job we will run
If a corridor, a date or a load type does not suit our equipment, you hear that at quote stage. A cheap rate on a truck that never turns up is worth nothing to a dispatch office.
We restrain before we roll
Restraint is chosen for the load and rated against the Load Restraint Guide. If a consignment cannot be secured safely as presented, we repack it or we leave it.
We tell you when it slips
Breakdowns, road closures and weather happen on WA highways. You get told the same day it becomes known, not the day after the delivery was due.
The duties we operate under
Heavy vehicle work in Western Australia carries obligations that sit across the whole supply chain, not just on the driver. We take our share of them seriously and expect the same from the parties we work with.
Where a consignment raises a mass, dimension, restraint or dangerous-goods question, we would rather resolve it before the truck is loaded than explain it at a roadside inspection.
What that means in practice
- Chain of responsibilityConsignors, packers, loaders and receivers all influence whether a load is legal. We raise issues with the party who can fix them.
- Mass and dimensionLoads are matched to the vehicle's legal limits, and over-mass or oversize movements run under the applicable Main Roads WA permit conditions.
- Fatigue and schedulingTrip plans are built around lawful driving and rest hours. We will not accept a delivery time that can only be met by breaking them.
- Dangerous goodsDangerous goods must be declared, classified and packaged correctly before collection. Undeclared goods are refused.
- RecordsConsignment notes, delivery sign-offs and permit paperwork are retained and made available to you on request.
